Tripsmiths and TS Travel provides holidaymakers with adventures across the globe, from French vineyard excursions to African safaris — but the business has gone into administration

A British holiday company specialising in group travel tours has entered administration.

Administrators were appointed for Tripsmiths and TS Travel on May 14 – and the business and assets were immediately sold. It will now operate under ‘Tripsmiths Travel’ after being purchased by The Travel Network Group. Thankfully, holidays that have already been booked should not be affected.

Tripsmiths and TS Travel offers holidaymakers a wide range of adventures to some of the world’s most captivating destinations, from French vineyard trips and African safaris to scenic breaks around Italy’s Lake Garda and vibrant, culture-packed city escapes.

The firm also organises trips in the UK, offering tours throughout the Highlands, trips to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and even rides aboard the Jacobite steam train.

That specific experience featured a talk with former weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood, as well as the chance to take part in a “commando tour” led by ex-Royal Marine Monty Hall, Express reports.

A company spokesperson told The Herald: “Tripsmiths Limited and TS Travel Limited entered administration on May 14, with Michael Solomons and Andrew Pear of Moorfields appointed as joint administrators.

“Following their appointment, the joint administrators completed a sale of the company’s business and assets.

“The purchaser has confirmed that existing customer bookings will continue to be honoured and all future holidays are going ahead as normal.”

The spokesperson also said: “All customer monies are held securely in a trust account and guaranteed by the Travel Trust Association. In connection with the transaction, employees of the companies transferred to the purchaser pursuant to TUPE regulations.”

It was confirmed that all existing bookings will be honoured, with all current and future tours and holidays proceeding as planned.

TS Tours, the trading name of TS Travel, stated on its website: “We know what makes a great travel experience and every one of our trips has been hand-crafted in-house by us – combining unique insights, exclusive access and memorable experiences.”
