easyJet shared the ‘important update’ earlier this month

easyJet has issued an alert to passengers travelling to more than 100 destinations with the airline following a major rule change that has come into effect post- Brexit.

In an “important update” released earlier this month, easyJet warned that queue times may be affected, stating: “Airports across Europe may experience longer queues at passport control whilst the new European Entry/Exit System (EES) border checks are being completed. This will mean you may need to have your biometrics taken including your face and fingerprints scanned.”

Travellers have been advised to carefully plan their journey to and through the airport, taking into account the possibility of lengthier queues than they may have previously encountered. Anyone needing to use Bag Drop is urged to do so as soon as it opens, and passengers should ensure all necessary travel documents are readily accessible.

easyJet is also encouraging travellers to pass through security at the earliest opportunity and to make their way to the gate or boarding area as soon as it is announced. The airline further warned that there may be additional checks at passport control before reaching your gate, adding: “You may experience longer queues in your arrival airport”.
