A TUI travel agent has revealed one of her top holiday recommendations for Brits wanting to go away in October and November – and it’s got hot and sunny weather

A TUI travel agent has revealed the seven destinations that Brits won’t want to miss out on for a last-minute autumn escape, thanks to the hot weather, cheap pints and short flight time from the UK.
Jane Cox has been a TUI travel agent for 23 years, and has booked literally thousands of holidays for Brits. “Autumn is one of my favourite times to travel because you can get many of the same benefits as a summer holiday, but with fewer crowds and often better value too,” she told WalesOnline. “Whether customers are looking for late-season sunshine, a relaxing lakeside escape or a mountain break, destinations tend to feel a little more laid-back once the peak summer rush has passed.”
One of her top recommendations for sun-seekers? Egypt. With daytime temperatures often ranging from 28-32C, it’s still hot and sunny enough to make the most of the beaches or lay out poolside, not to mention there are plenty of excursions to be found if you want to explore some of the country’s famous historic sites.
It can be a budget-friendly trip too; according to TUI research, average pint costs start from £1.50 while a glass of wine could set you back £4. As for a meal, prices can range from £6-£15 per person.
Jane explained: “Egypt is a really good option for autumn because the temperatures become much more comfortable while still delivering plenty of sunshine. It’s a great time to enjoy everything the destination has to offer, whether that’s spending time on the beach, snorkelling in the Red Sea or exploring some of the country’s incredible history.”
Flight times are approximately five hours from UK airports so it’s not really a long weekend type of destination, but if you’re after a week away in the sunshine and don’t want to have to travel too far, it can be a great compromise.
If you’re planning to visit in October, take note that prices can surge over the half term breaks – if you’re not tied to school holiday dates, then earlier in the month can sometimes work out at offering better value for money. Still, there are plenty of accommodation options including a host of all-inclusive resorts.

TUI offers a range of all-inclusive holidays in Egypt; when we took a look at travelling outside of October half term, there were seven-night holidays from £736pp. It’s not just TUI which offers these types of breaks; First Choice also has a range of Egypt holidays including Hurghada, while easyJet Holidays has a range of breaks in the likes of Sharm-el-Sheikh.
