Pubs can open beyond their usual hours around some matches, to take account of the wide range of kick-off times at the tournament, which is being played in the US, Canada and Mexico in June and July.
Demand is expected to stay high throughout summer, including during Arsenal’s victory parade on Sunday and major concerts across London.
TfL also announced a partnership with BOXPARK and TOCA Social to provide travel advice at World Cup screenings.
A new multilingual customer information service for the Elizabeth line will launch in June to provide live travel updates in 38 languages.
Andy Lord, London’s transport commissioner, said: “We’ve already seen the positive impact that major events like the London Marathon and the end of the Premier League season have on the city, and we expect this summer’s FIFA Men’s World Cup to bring the same energy to London with people coming together to support their teams.
“London is a truly global city, and that is reflected in the diversity of our brilliant transport workforce.”
He added: “Our teams work around the clock to keep customers moving safely and reliably – whether they’re heading to a concert, watching football with friends or enjoying a night out.”
