A UK travel company has collapsed into liquidation after 55 years.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced that the Ickenham Travel Group stopped trading in November.
The London-based company previously traded under the names Abu Dhabi Holidays, Ras Al Khaimah Holidays and Letsgo2.
Ickenham Travel Group, which started with just one shop, was founded in 1970 by chief executive Peter Reglar.
It ceased trading as a license holder on November 20, 2025 after more than five decades.
The CAA told customers who were overseas on that date that their return flight remained valid and they should check in with their airline ‘as per the existing flight ticket’.

It continued: “The CAA is speaking to the service providers for the other elements of your trip to ensure these continue as planned.”
Travellers shouldn’t have needed to make alternative arrangements or buy new tickets, as their original booking should be valid.
However, the CAA has issued the following advice for people with ATOL protected packages due to travel after November 20, 2025.
The CAA said: “If you have an ATOL flight inclusive package booking and have been issued with flight tickets, the flights may be valid for travel, and you are advised to check with the airline.
“If the airline confirms you have a valid ticket for travel, you may have the option to travel. However, other services may not have been paid to the local suppliers, and you will be required to re-arrange and pay for these services again.
“To avoid any issues in resort, you should confirm the cost of all the services in advance of travel where possible.”
For those due to travel after November 20, 2025, the CAA has advised two options.
The first is to claim for a refund if you do not want to use your flight.
Or, use your flight and claim for replacement services like accommodation or transfers – then claim for the cost of those replacements.
For those whose booking has been cancelled prior to Ickenham Travel Group ceasing to trade as an ATOL holder – then you can submit a claim to ATOL.
The time limit for making a claim is November 19, 2026 and you can find out more from ATOL.
Ickenham Travel Group wasn’t the only UK travel firm to go bust this year – this one also left customers facing cancelled holidays.
And just last month one UK airline went bust after 22 years cancelling ALL flights and leaving passengers stranded.
