The Lake County Visitors Bureau — rebranded as “Tour Lake County” earlier this year — was recently recognized at the Ohio Travel Association Conference on Travel in Toledo with 10 awards for “outstanding achievements in marketing and advertising.”

Tour Lake County received its five, first-place “RUBY (Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance Yearly) Awards” in the following categories: “Marketing Campaign,” “Print Media,” “Event Campaign,” “Newsletter” and “Radio Advertisement.”

In addition, Tour Lake County received the runner-up, “Citation of Excellence Award for Print Advertisement,” “Digital Marketing Campaign,” “Social Media Campaign,” “Television Advertisement” and “Blog.”

According to officials, Tour Lake County’s winning Marketing Campaign, featuring the new brand and overall marketing campaign, was recognized as “Flawless,” a designation that was only given to five of nearly 250 award submissions.

“These awards are a testament to the hard work our team puts in, day in, and day out, collaborating to come up with fun and unique strategies to share the remarkable happenings taking place across Lake County,” said Tour Lake County Executive Director Neil Stein.

“We take great pride in sharing the activities and positive stories from our unparalleled attractions, wineries, parks, restaurants, lodging partners, events, and communities and it is gratifying for our staff and board of directors, as well as the county, at large, to be recognized by our peers for our marketing efforts.”

The Ohio Travel Association serves as the “leading voice advocating for its members and all destination marketing organizations across the state to emphasize the vital role tourism plays in economic development and the positive financial impact travel has on state and local economies.”

Nine marketing professionals, representing academia, consulting firms, and ad agencies, judged each entry based on overall concept, results and creativity, Stein noted.

The organization’s 2025 Conference on Travel is coming to Northeast Ohio as Ashtabula County will be hosting at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
