Representatives from Switzerland gave agents a taste of the destination with cheese, chocolate and interactive experiences during their recent showcase events.

Switzerland Tourism partnered with Swiss Travel System for the ‘Swiss on Tour’ event which saw eight suppliers head to the UK to host three events in Newcastle, Liverpool and London. The mission was to give the trade memorable training and networking experiences to help them sell all things Switzerland and promote the public transport network.

The partners involved were Switzerland Tourism, Swiss Travel System, Mount Rigi Railways, Bernina Express, Gornergrat Railways, Lake Lucerne Navigation Company, Postbus and Jungfrau Railways.

The events were held at the Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle, Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool, and LSQ Rooftop in London, and each had an added interactive element included in the partner presentations.

Agents were able to scan QR codes on the screen to answer quiz questions to be in with a chance of winning prizes. The quiz results were then posted on the screens for guests to see the percentage of the audience of who guessed correctly, with the top three at each event walking away with prizes.

The top prize was a four-night holiday for two to a Swiss destination of their choice, with first class Swiss travel passes and return SWISS flights. Second prize was a £100 voucher to spend in any Läderach chocolate shop and third prize was a £50 voucher to spend with Alpine Wines.

After the quiz, canapes and drinks were served and the Swiss on Tour team added to the theme with a raclette tasting.

Agents then took part in their own chocolate and cocktail making masterclass, leaving them with an appetite for Switzerland and its delights.
