Commuters face severe delays on the Victoria Line on Friday morning due to over-running engineering works.

There are also minor delays on the Central Line due to an ongoing shortage of trains, but a good service is running on the rest of the London Underground network.

Meanwhile on the roads there are long delays on the A205 South Circular Westbound heading towards Catford, thought to be due to construction work. The delays are affected the stretch from the A20 Sidcup Road (Clifton’s Roundabout) to Verdant Lane.

Good morning, and welcome to the Standard’s travel live blog.

It’s bad news this morning for those using the Victoria Line, which is experiencing severe delays due to the late finishing of engineering works.

TfL says there are also minor delays on the Central Line due to the ongoing train shortage, but there is a good service on the rest of the Underground network.
