Planning a trip to Las Vegas? A recent study has highlighted some of the most overrated hotels in Las Vegas, revealing that visitor expectations at certain iconic venues fall noticeably short. While the Strip’s legendary hotels are famous worldwide, a closer look at reviews suggests that staying in some of these iconic locations might leave guests underwhelmed.

According to data gathered by NonGamStopBets, using thousands of Tripadvisor reviews, hotels like the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, and the Excalibur Hotel & Casino are receiving mixed feedback despite their long-standing popularity. From cleanliness complaints to outdated decor, some hotels consistently receive low marks from guests who feel they don’t deliver on their promise of a quintessential Vegas experience.

Circus Circus Hotel & Casino tops the list with 14,392 reviews, but only a small fraction—2,925—are five-star, giving the hotel a middling score of 3.27. Known for its family-friendly attractions and nostalgic flair, the hotel is marred by complaints of outdated facilities (5.4%) and cleanliness issues (18%), with one in five guests flagging these concerns. The feedback reveals that while Circus Circus appeals to some for its affordability, many feel it doesn’t quite live up to Las Vegas’ glitzy standards.

Next on the list is Excalibur Hotel & Casino, an eye-catching medieval-themed property that appeals to visitors with its unique design. But out of 27,286 reviews, 4,655 are one-star, leading to an average score of 3.3. Reviewers describe the venue as “dirty” (7.4%) and “outdated” (4.7%), detracting from the initial charm of its fairy-tale architecture.

Flamingo Las Vegas, a staple of the Strip since 1946, is ranked third. With 48,063 reviews, the Flamingo scores an average of 3.4, hindered by frequent complaints about cleanliness (15.5%) and disappointing service (11.1%). Despite its history and prime location, visitors often feel it lacks the quality associated with its iconic reputation.

The Luxor Hotel & Casino is fourth on the list, with an impressive 61,980 reviews. However, even with its distinct pyramid architecture, it struggles to maintain an above-average score, coming in at 3.47. Cleanliness issues are flagged by 9.31% of guests, with some reviewers also noting dated decor.

Finally, Harrah’s Las Vegas rounds out the top five with 1,295 reviews and an average score of 3.48. While not as grand as other Strip hotels, it has left 5.5% of reviewers feeling disappointed due to “poor” service and general upkeep issues.
