A charity initiative set up by two trade managers has raised £3,700 for Reuben’s Retreat and Abta LifeLine.

The Travel 10k fundraising community was set up by Aishling McLoughlin, business development director at Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, and Natasha Marson, head of trade distribution at easyJet holidays, after they fundraised for Abta LifeLine last year and decided to “level up” their efforts.

Fifteen runners from travel agencies and tour operators ran 10km on July 13 to raise funds, including Helen Millward of Jet2holidays, Craig Weatherill of Admiral Travel and David Cookson of Travel Circle.

McLoughlin said: “It was a fantastic day and everyone was buzzing.

“We have raised a great amount so far for Reuben’s Retreat and Abta LifeLine which is fantastic.

“We definitely want to continue The Travel 10k community and have been discussing some ideas about how to take it forward.”
