A TOURISM firm which operated scores of holidays across Scotland has gone bust.

Tripsmiths and TS Travel have been taking tourists to some of the most exciting locations across the globe.

They have organised getaways to French vineyards, African safaris, stunning trips to Italy’s Lake Garda and culture-bursting city breaks.

But they also brought visitors north of the border taking people on tours of the Highlands, trips to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and even a journey on the jacobite steam train.

The train journey included a talk with former BBC weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood and they even had opportunities for a “commando tour” with ex Royal Marine Monty Hall.

But the companies have since collapsed into administration.

It has been confirmed the company’s assets and the business have been sold.

Fortunately for punters, all existing bookings are being honoured and none have been cancelled.

Moorfields have been appointed as administrators for the travel group.

A spokesperson told The Herald: “Tripsmiths Limited and TS Travel Limited entered administration on May 14, with Michael Solomons and Andrew Pear of Moorfields appointed as joint administrators.

“Following their appointment, the joint administrators completed a sale of the companies’ business and assets.

“The purchaser has confirmed that existing customer bookings will continue to be honoured and all future holidays are going ahead as normal.”
