A fuel protest is being planned on a stretch of the North Staffordshire A50. Fourteen fuel protest locations have been named across England, Wales and Scotland.

They include the A50 Uttoxeter Bypass near the JCB factory. Organisers are particularly targeting truckers and farmers,

Protests are being mooted at midday on Wednesday 15 April, Thursday 16 April, and Friday 17 April. But it is not yet clear whether any of the protests will actually go ahead.

It comes as average pump prices at UK forecourts increased for a 43rd consecutive day this week to reach 158.3p per litre for petrol – and 191.5p per litre for diesel. The latest pump prices represent hikes of 25p per litre for petrol and 49p per litre for diesel from the day the war began on February 28.
