Hays Travel has officially announced the appointment of Guy Fletcher as its new brands commercial manager, overseeing commercial growth across four of the group’s acquired retail businesses.

Fletcher, who takes up the expanded position on June 1, will assume responsibility for Millington Travel, Polka Dot Travel, Spear Travels and The Holiday and Flight Centre.

The announcement follows the news that long-standing industry figure Julie Kendrick is leaving Spear Travels today (Thursday), as reported by Travel Weekly, having confirmed in a letter to partners that Fletcher would become the new point of contact for the trade.

Currently responsible for sales and marketing at Millington Travel – where he has worked for more than 30 years – Fletcher will now be tasked with managing commercial agreements and creating revenue growth strategies across the four brands.

His remit will also include identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with brand partners and stakeholders, working alongside Hays Travel’s broader marketing, sales, operations, finance and creative teams.

Hays Travel chief operating officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston said: “Having been with Millington Travel for over 30 years, Guy has a great deal of energy, experience and exceptional contacts.

“We have been impressed by his positive approach since he joined our Hays Travel group and look forward to collaborating with him in this expanded role. I’m confident he will thrive working alongside colleagues in four of our brands, to develop partnerships and drive performance.”

Fletcher added: “I’m excited to be accepting the role of commercial manager for brands. With my 30-plus years’ travel experience and well-established industry contacts, I’m looking forward to overseeing the commercial growth and success of the brands division that I will be responsible for.”

The creation of the consolidated role follows a significant period of retail expansion for Hays Travel.

It acquired Spear Travels’ 12 branches and homeworking division in June 2025, followed by the 15 branches of Polka Dot Travel in October 2025.

In November 2025, the group added Millington Travel’s 14 midlands-based branches and Scotland-based agency The Holiday and Flight Centre in Hamilton to its portfolio.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) recently cleared the acquisitions of Polka Dot and Millington Travel.
