A specialist golf tour operator that provides escorted group travel has gone on sale through travel agents.

Golf to a Tee was bought by trade-only, tailor-made golf operator Tee The World, run by Carolyn Park, former owner of travel agency C The World, in 2023.

It operates as a standalone brand offering group travel for clients wanting informal coaching by professionals or hosted trips worldwide and in the UK.

The operator runs about 30 trips a year, mostly of seven nights in duration and including five rounds of golf, with dinner included as a minimum.

The former direct-sell business previously only offered ground arrangements but now sells packages under the group’s Atol via flight consolidator Aviate.

Speaking for the first time since selling C The World to industry veteran Matt Purser in September 2024, Park said it made sense to expand Golf to a Tee’s business to the trade.

“We have slowly started to tell agents about it – it’s an extra revenue stream for them,” she said,
adding it catered for golfers who didn’t want to travel on their own to join a group of keen players.

The operator has also expanded its portfolio, returning to Bulgaria and adding Thailand and Vietnam this year. The Caribbean is also new while Iceland is on the cards for 2027 and Switzerland is under consideration for 2028.

Park is to host a five-night golf trip in La Cala, Spain, over Christmas, which starts from £945.

The trade launch follows the growth of Tee The World sales via agents since it was set up in 2018.

“I started it as a sub-brand (of C The World) because we (the agency) couldn’t find a golf-friendly operator. Now we’ve lots of groups travelling with us five or six times a year, happy to rebook through agents,” she said.
