Glensheen Mansion has opened ticket sales for its annual Christmas season tours, offering visitors a chance to experience the historic estate adorned with festive décor.
Daily self-guided tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Evening Candlelight Tours will be offered Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., beginning Nov. 28 and continuing through Dec. 28, with bonus dates on Dec. 14, 21 and 28.
This year’s theme, Joy to the World, transforms 12 rooms to reflect countries visited by the Congdon family, featuring more than 25 decorated trees, cultural ornaments and original artifacts.
“This is a way for us to bring the Congdons’ stories to life a little bit more and tell some of those stories about their life and travel,” Glensheen staff said. “Guests always ask, ‘Can you tell us more about the people who lived here?’ So this is a way to open up those stories and give a special flavor to this time of year.”
Glensheen was recently ranked No. 7 on USA Today’s list of Best Holiday Historic Home Tours, alongside Graceland and Biltmore. Timed-entry tickets for Full Mansion and Candlelight Tours are limited and strongly recommended for advance purchase online.
