Making your travel plans with Amex travel is easy. You can do so through the website AmexTravel.com or by calling the number on the back of your card and asking to speak to an Amex Travel rep. Here’s a step-by-step guide to booking online.

1. Go to AmexTravel.com. In the top right corner, there will be an option to log in. Select it and enter your user ID and password.

2. Search for your preferred destination and dates. The site will give you a list of options. For example, searching for a hotel in Manhattan Sept 22-25, 2025, resulted in a list of 327 options. You can sort the options in various ways to help you narrow your choices.

3. Review the price and benefits. Each of the options includes both the cash price and the number of points required to book the hotel. Since I hold an American Express Platinum, the options also include the specific Platinum card benefits that come with booking through Amex Travel.

4. Choose your reservation type. Once you select the hotel, there may be more than one option to reserve the room. Typically, there will be the option to prepay for your room or to book and pay at check-in.
