While many travellers still rely on traditional luggage, such as check-in suitcases and carry-on bags, even the most durable models can come with their own design flaws. From broken wheels to dodgy zips and latches that refuse to stay shut; we’ve all been let down by luggage at one time or another. Travel backpacks, however, offer a much more lightweight and practical alternative.
I’m a big advocate for travel backpacks, particularly styles with side and rear access. These clever designs make it much easier to find what you need without having to dig through layers of clothes, toiletries and travel essentials to reach items buried at the bottom.
At first glance, many travel backpacks can seem almost identical, but it’s the little design features that make the difference. Handy top pockets make it easier to access everyday essentials like keys, wallets and travel documents, while padded, wide shoulder straps can help spread the load more comfortably.
