As part of its events to mark Railway 200, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway has launched a special Summer Season Family Pass that provides a day’s unlimited family travel on the railway and free refreshments for children.
This latest offer follows last year’s ‘Kids travel for just £1’ promotion and the ‘Kids go Free’ promotion that was trialled by the railway for its Cotswold Festival of Steam in May. Many families took advantage of the offer, with the railway declaring it a great success, and hopes that this latest offer will also appeal to families looking for value-for-money treats during the school holiday.

The Family Pass is valid from this Saturday, 2nd August, until Saturday, 6th September inclusive. It is a membership-type card that can be sent out to applicants or collected from the station on their first time of use. Once they have a family pass, families just need to present it each time they visit the railway, and tickets will be issued at no further cost.
Each time families visit the railway, they will receive a voucher for each youngster that can be exchanged at the railway’s Cotswold Halt Café at Toddington or the Coffee Pot Café on Winchcombe station.
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway operates steam and heritage diesel trains between Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire and Broadway in Worcestershire, and the pass allows holders to enjoy unlimited train journeys and free snacks for children through to Saturday, 6th September.

The offer includes and includes popular ‘Teddy Bear’ Thursdays and ‘Go Wild at Winchcombe’ family events, which run from Saturday, 9th to Thursday, 21st August., and cost £45 for one adult and up to three children aged 5 to 15, and £85 for two adults and up to three children aged 5 to 15.
“A trip on the GWSR is a special family treat and this promotion allows unlimited travel on our wonderful volunteer-run railway with complimentary refreshments for children. It represents incredible value for money the more trips you take, the better the value!”
Jack Boskett, the GWSR s Head of Marketing
