Could you tell us about your Irish vacation – what parts of  Ireland did you visit and your most memorable moments?

“We started in Dublin at the airport’s car rental hire and we hit the ground running with excitement! We realized we spread ourselves way too thin with our full itinerary of travel plans, so we slowed it down, which turned out to be just as amazing as trying to hit all of the destinations on the pre-planned list.

In Dublin, we stayed in the quaint coastal town of Skerries and enjoyed lovely beach walks and we could hear the ocean waves all night from our accommodation.

Memorable moments included the Titanic Belfast Museum in Northern Ireland, a bio-luminescent kayak nighttime excursion in Kerry, an amazing falconry and Afternoon Tea experience at Dromoland Castle in Clare. A historical highlight was a visit to Ross Castle in Killarney, Kerry with our unforgettable tour guide.

We also visited Innisfallen Island in Kerry which was like stepping through a storybook! The island still has the ruins of the monks’ monastery. The island has such beautiful scenery, nature, history,  folklore, and fresh air in a peaceful, and secluded but walkable location. We had a short boat trip to and from the island, which also provided an opportunity to hear some tales about the island from our boat driver Declan.”

Did you have a favorite Irish food experience?

“The traditional Irish stew was so magnificent, and the full Irish breakfast every morning was my favorite to try at each location we stayed, and was always the best start of my day. Potato cakes were one of my favorites, and the fish and chips are always delicious at every stop and the hot daily soups are all wonderful with soda bread!”

If you were to return to Ireland where would you go?

There are so many wonderful options that it’s too difficult to say where but I would probably say Galway. There are loads of activities there and I adore the Connemara region and Gaeltacht areas. I am happy anywhere in Ireland and look forward to returning as soon as we can.”
