Their second day in Colombia began with a visit to Colegio La Giralda, a local school in Santa Fe.

There, the Sussexes met students. Per Sussex.com, “The school prepared a vibrant welcome for the Duke and Duchess with performances throughout the grounds featuring students in traditional Colombian dress, cumbia songs, and live percussion. Their visit included an observation of the school’s historical memory museum, where students showcased art honoring Colombian history and resilience.”

Meghan and Harry also planted a walnut tree alongside the Vice President.

For their first stop, Harry and Meghan visited a local charter school, Colegio Cultura.

There, Meghan described the students she met as incredibly “impressive, smart, and savvy” and shared how it was important to be “self reliant and not tech reliant.”

After, the Sussexes took in a performances at the Plaza del Carnaval y la Cultura in San Juan de Pasto. Here, the Duke of Sussex poses for a selfie with an artist.

Harry and Meghan were all smiles on their first day in Colombia.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a dress by Colombian designer Joanna Ortiz.

In the evening, the Sussexes spoke on a panel about a responsible digital future, hosted by the Universidad EAN.

“We should model how we want our kids to be raised and for the world in which we raise them,” Meghan said. “It doesn’t matter where you live. It doesn’t matter who you are. Either you personally or someone you know is a victim to what’s happening online. And that’s something we can actively work on every day to remedy.”
