Kochi: A Kochi-based firm has launched a first-of-its-kind private train service offering tourist packages from Kerala to popular travel destinations in the country.
Kochi-based Princy World Travels is offering a private train tour package to Goa, Mumbai, and Ayodhya in collaboration with Indian Railways ‘Bharat Gaurav Yatra’ initiative.
It is a government-approved joint venture with the Chennai-based S.R.M.P.R. Group, which has leased trains from Indian Railway to conduct services. The operations in Kerala are being managed by Princy World Travels.
A train with 14 coaches can carry 600 passengers. 60 staff, including trained paramedical staff, will be on the train to assist passengers. Free travel insurance is offered to passengers.
There will also be a round-the-clock emergency response team, a GPS-tracking system, and live CCTV on the train. The amenities also include a food trolley service and a la carte dining.
The inaugural trip will begin from Thiruvananthapuram to Goa on June 4. The four-day trip will have stops in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod in Kerala.
The ticket fare (TVM-Goa) for a two-tier AC compartment is Rs 16,400, while for a three-tier compartment, it is Rs 15,150. For a non-AC sleeper, the ticket fare is Rs 13,999. For more details, contact: 8089021114, 8089031114, 8089041114.
