Travel industry charity Just a Drop will host its second five-a-side Travel United Cup at Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham FC.
The football competition, run in partnership with Street Soccer Foundation, will be played on Friday 31 May, sponsored by Visit Malta and Royal Caribbean Group.
To enter a team costs £2,500 for up to 10 players and 10 supporters and coaches. It includes access to the Craven Cottage facilities, light refreshments, photographs and prizes for the winning teams.
There will also be a crossbar challenge, sponsored by Silver Travel, that players will be encouraged to take on.
Last year teams from several travel brands including Audley Travel, Celestyal, Avis, easyJet holidays, Finn Partners, Golfbreaks and Royal Caribbean battled it out for the title, which went to Golfbreaks after two penalty shoot-outs.
Andrew Mabbutt, who is helping put the event together, said “It is open to everyone. Get your company to put a team in, a really fabulous day out and bring your work colleagues, family and friends along for support. The chance of playing at a real Premier League football stadium on the same turf as the world’s best footballers is an extremely rare once in a lifetime experience”
Malta Tourist Authority Director Tolene van der Merwe said: “We were thrilled to be headline sponsor for the inaugural event last year and raised significant funds for two incredible charities.
“It was so much fun and lovely to see the diversity of the teams that entered. With this year’s event being held at a Premier League football ground, it will just add to the occasion”.
Celebrity Cruises VP and Managing Director EMEA Giles Hawke said: “Celebrity Cruises is delighted to join our sister brands, Royal Caribbean International, and Silversea Cruises as a joint headline sponsor of this year’s Travel United Cup.
“We have a responsibility to make a difference, and events like this show how the travel industry continues to strive to help those in need. We hope to see some of our fellow industry peers join us at Craven Cottage for a fun day of football. Game on!”
