Greater Anglia is celebrating Pride Month this year and is encouraging Pride event attendees to travel by train.

A number of Pride events are within Greater Anglia’s network, and people can travel without major engineering disruption to the events.

Greater Anglia will be hanging flags and bunting at a variety of stations and will be the main sponsor of Norwich Pride.

Passengers using the Great Eastern Main Line between Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester, and London Liverpool Street will benefit from normal Saturday and Sunday services as major works on the mainline will be paused over the summer.

There are some minor disruptions which will see rail replacement buses in use.

London Pride goers should be aware that on the 5th July, there will be no trains between Norwich and Ely.

Those attending Colchester Pride on the 16th August should be aware that the 22:56 Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze service will be diverted to Clacton.

For both of the above dates, the 23:18 London Liverpool Street to Clacton service will be terminating at Colchester, and the 23:30 London Liverpool Street to Norwich service will terminate at Ipswich.

These train disruptions will be replaced by bus services.

Advance tickets and information on Pride events covered by the Greater Anglia network can be found on their website.

“It is lovely to travel around our network and see the Pride flags and bunting up to celebrate acceptance and continue to bring communities together throughout June and in general as Pride events take place in the towns and cities across our network.

“We hope it helps spread the message the railway is here for everyone and that everyone has fun on their way to the parades and celebrations.”
