A 24-hour national strike in Italy threatens to affect flights, trains and public transport today (Friday).
A walkout by airport workers including baggage handlers and ground staff as well as external companies is set to impact airlines.
This could result in flight delays or cancellations with passengers advised to check with their airline.
Italian carrier ITA Airways has reportedly been forced to cancel 34 domestic and international flights due to the strike action, including connections between London, Rome and Milan.
Jet2 warned that the strikes “will potentially have an impact on all public transport across Italy”.
The company said: “We have been made aware that there is national strike action taking place in Italy on 20th June.
“Our dedicated operations teams are working hard behind the scenes to ensure we have the latest information for you. Please check back here for regular updates.
“Should any flight disruption occur, our teams will be in contact with you and updates will be given through our crew on board.”
