TENS of thousands of Scots are expected descend on the United States next summer as the national team prepares for its first World Cup appearance in nearly 30 years.
The Tartan Army learned last week that Scotland’s group-stage fixtures against Haiti and Morocco will be played in Boston, while Miami will host the highly anticipated clash with Brazil.
Many supporters have already begun locking in their travel plans, with demand for World Cup trips soaring.
But the journey across the Atlantic won’t come cheap — fans could be facing bills running into the thousands for flights, accommodation and, if they’re lucky, the gold-dust match tickets themselves.
Anyone hoping to join the party in the USA has been urged to act quickly, as unprecedented demand is putting pressure on prices and availability.
Barrhead Travel, announced as the Scottish FA’s Official Fan Travel Partner, has issued a warning to supporters preparing to follow Scotland stateside.

The firm is encouraging fans to book early to secure preferred flights, hotels and travel packages while options remain accessible.
They also recommend using a travel expert to help find the best value deals and to manage the complex logistics of internal travel, ensuring supporters can move smoothly between Boston and Miami during the tournament.
Many supporters are opting for packages with match tickets included.
Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, Managing Director of Barrhead Travel, said; “We’ve had a wave of demand for bookings to travel to the USA to cheer on Scotland next year at the Fifa World Cup.
“Unsurprisingly, Boston was our top-booked destination yesterday closely followed by New York and Florida as fans have been eager to secure their travel plans.
“We saw momentum really pick up pace on Saturday night when the match locations were confirmed, with our Scottish teams working until late to help get as many fans booked as possible.
“Today, we’re still very busy helping those looking to lock down their options and we’re expecting another very busy few week ahead.
“Our partnership as the Scottish FA’s Official Fan Travel Partner underlines our commitment to ensuring that fans can book their travel with the assurance of guaranteed financial protection, expert advice and sourcing the best deals available on the market.”
Meanwhile, holiday experts On the Beach recorded an incredible 825 per cent increase in website searches and holiday bookings to the USA.
In just three days, bookings to Boston and New York have surged by an eye-watering 606 per cent compared with the previous three-day period, as fans snap up seats from airports across Scotland and the North East.
Travel to Miami has also skyrocketed since the fixtures were announced, with supporters racing to secure their spot at the showpiece showdown with Brazil.
Zoe Harris, chief customer officer at On the Beach said: “It’s been 28 long years since the Tartan Army last packed their bags for a party on this scale and you can feel the excitement bursting through our site.
“Bookings for New York, Boston and Miami are flooding in. Come June, there’ll be a sea of blue, white and tartan sweeping across the States and we’re thrilled to be getting fans front-row for Scotland’s biggest summer in decades.”
With hundreds of hotels and flight options available on its ATOL-protected holidays, On the Beach is urging fans planning to join the travelling Tartan Army to browse its website for the best deals — with some trips able to be secured for as little as £30 per person.
Harris continued: “We’ve got flexible payment options for every Scotland fan, so you can stick a small deposit in the back of the net now and comfortably spread the rest over the next five months.”
