Walking holidays have become increasingly popular in recent years, especially when it comes to staycations. With this in mind, new global study from AllClear Travel Insurance has revealed the world’s easiest walks to the world’s most stunning views, with four UK trails making it onto the list.
The researchers analysed over 100 scenic walking trails worldwide, ranking them by difficulty (based on distance, elevation gain and average temperature), with Artist Point in Yellowstone, USA, topping the list. While the second spot went to Cadillac Summit Loop, also in the USA, and third went to New Zealand‘s Milford Sound Foreshore Walk. Two UK spots came in at number 10, the Porthdinllaen Circular in Wales, and the Giant’s Causeway Blue Trail in Northern Ireland.
According to AllTrails the Porthdinllaen Circular should take walkers just over one hour, with stunning coastal views and a chance to see seals. One hiker who enjoyed this beautiful walk, wrote: “Stunning little coastal walk.
“There was a secluded beach just before the trail tells you to exit the golf course. I wasn’t missing out on those! The way down is steep but oh so worth it!”
Similarly, visitors have left rave reviews on the AllTrails page for the Giant’s Causeway Blue Trail, which offers breathtaking views and beautiful scenery. One walker penned: “A must see in Northern Ireland. Great hike, surreal views. Make sure to bring water.”
Number 11 on the list was the Old Man of Storr route in the Scottish Highlands, which is one of Scotland’s most iconic places.
This hike takes which takes you up to the Old Man of Storr, a rock formation which formed millions of years ago, when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Legends claim that the rocks at the thumb of a giant who is now buried underground, while others claim that the face of an old man can be seen in the rock.
The final UK spot on the list was the Chee Dale Stepping Stones Circular, a beautiful trail at the edge of the Peak District.
