Arundel is located in West Sussex and it’s a town that’s often forgotten about when it comes to places to visit. The TikTok content creator says: “Arundel Castle is one of the most magical day trips from London – with stunning gardens, medieval towers, and views that feel straight out of a storybook. Just 1h 30min from the city, and you’re in another world.”
The castle is just one spot worth visiting while you’re there. Today, the town is filled with historic streets and it has a quaint feel.
Arundel was a small market town back in the 1800s, but its population grew considerably through the 19th century and is now a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful listed buildings and scenic surroundings, says Discover Sussex.
One person who visited Arundel Castle said: “Fun and educational visit over the school half term holidays.
“We travelled by train for a day trip and walked around 10 minutes to reach the castle. There were activities such as archery, falconry, medieval music outdoors and lots to see inside too.
“Our guide who gave a moat tour talk was great at bringing the castle and English history alive, captivating both children and adults.
“We spent 4.5 hours there and then went on to see the Cathedral and museum nearby. Gorgeous views from the keep. Castle rooms and size are impressive.”
To get to Arundel from London, you can take a train from London Victoria which costs around £8 – the train takes just one hour and 24 minutes.
