What will be fixed in RE-1 Schools if the bond passes and the district receives the state-funded BEST (Building Excellent Schools Today) grant? That’s a question many patrons are asking, and the RE-1 Valley School District is inviting you to see the answers for yourself.
Join us for a community facility tour on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. to learn more about the critical improvements planned as part of the November bond election and the potential matching funds available through the state-funded BEST Grant. These upgrades focus on areas of safety, security, and long-overdue maintenance needs in our school buildings.
The tour is also a great opportunity to meet our new Superintendent, Mr. Dustin Hunt, who will be on hand to answer questions, share information, and hear directly from community members.
Tour Details:
• Date: Monday, Sept. 29, 2025
• Time: 5:30–7:30 p.m.
• Meeting Location: Front parking lot of Sterling High School
• Departure: Promptly at 5:30 p.m.
A school bus will be provided for the tour, departing from the Sterling High School front parking lot. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is encouraged. The tour will include stops at several Sterling-area school facilities, where you can learn about the specific upgrades being proposed, from improved entry security and modernized infrastructure to needed repairs and facility updates aimed at keeping students and staff safe and supported.
A separate tour of the Caliche facilities and proposed improvements will be held at a later date, with Superintendent Hunt also in attendance.
“We want our patrons to have a clear understanding of what this bond effort means and how it could help transform our schools,” said Superintendent Hunt. “Seeing the buildings and plans firsthand is the best way to get informed and involved.”
