Rail vacation specialist Railbookers has launched its first exclusive experience: an after-hours tour of the Vatican in September.
The special access will be available only on Sept. 8 and comes amid a historic year for Italy with the Holy Year, death of Pope Francis and confirmation of Pope Leo XIV.
The private access will allow travelers to enjoy the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel without crowds and concludes with an Italian apericena, a pre-dinner spread, in the Pinecone Courtyard.
Railbookers guests will have two hours to freely explore the Vatican’s halls and galleries.
“We’re thrilled to offer our guests this extraordinary event, exploring one of the world’s most iconic sites in a serene, intimate environment,” said Frank Marini, president and CEO of Railbookers Group. “By offering an exclusive event like this, we are breaking the mold for independent travel. The chance to enjoy the Vatican after hours, away from the crowds, is a rare, unforgettable experience that is not to be missed.”
The one-time experience will be available on three itineraries: Masterpieces by Rail: London to Rome with Vatican Access; Rome, Naples & Sorrento with Exclusive Vatican Experience; and Venice, Florence & Rome with After-Hours Vatican Access.
Itineraries include luxury hotel stays, private and small-group excursions, private transfers, and first-class rail travel.
