SOME of the world’s most beautiful hotels have been revealed and one of them is in the UK.
Named one of the top hotels in the world by the the prestigious Prix-Versailles awards – that recognise architecture and design – is Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.
It was the first hotel to be built in Mayfair in a decade, with its exterior inspired by Georgian architecture.
The hotel, which only opened in June last year, boasts 50 rooms and suites, from deluxe options to studio rooms.
According to the hotel, “each room has been imagined as a jewellery box, featuring a rich palette of emerald green, regal maroon and tranquil turquoise.”
One particularly special feature in each room is the silk, hand-painted and embroidered magnolia flower wallpaper.

Lavish touches don’t stop at the wallpaper though, as each room is equipped with its own yoga matt and wellness videos, Dyson hairdryers and GHD hair straighteners.
There are interconnecting rooms for families and pet-friendly rooms available as well.
Head to the spa for the ultimate indulgence, with a 25metre heated swimming pool – the largest indoor pool in Mayfair – smaller pools with massaging jets, steam rooms and saunas.
There are a number of treatments to choose from as well, including 22-minute ‘micro-treatments’ aimed to de-stress on a time efficient way.
If you want to get a work out in too, there is also a gym.
When it comes to food, guests are spoilt by two choices created by renowned chef Akira Back.
At the Akira Back restaurant, diners can enjoy modern Japanese dishes in a space inspired by “a walk in the park”, according to the hotel.
And in the middle of the restaurant there is a wooden centerpiece where diners can watch chef prepare dishes.
Options include miso caramel vegetable tarts, gochujang glazed Côte de boeuf with grilled kimchi and even a yellow peach Eton mess.
Alternatively, Somssi by Jihun Kim features an exclusive experience with a Korean tasting menu served to only 14 guests at a time.
Luxury continues at The Rooftop bar with 50 seats in total, an outdoor terrace and panoramic views across London.
Guests can enjoy cocktails inspired by the skyline and the city’s changing seasons, as well as sharing plates and bar dishes.
For example, you could opt for the ‘Pear and Ricotta’ autumn cocktail with rum, soju, pear, olive oil and citrus.
Mind, it will set you back £21 a glass.
The hotel is conveniently located close to a lot of the capital’s main attractions including New Bond Street, Regent Street and Oxford Circus only a five-minute stroll away.
Guests wanting to explore slightly further afield can hop on the tube, which is less than a two-minute walk away.
Soho, Covent Garden and the West End theatre district are all around 10-minutes away, walking.
According to booking sites, a room at the hotel costs from £849 a night.
Want to splash out? Book the penthouse which, according to CNN, starts from £40,000 a night.
Located on the 11th floor, the suite features four beds, a marble bathtub, Impressionist art and a wraparound terrace.
There is also another Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hyde Park, which was originally built as a gentlemen’s club and apartment building.
It was then converted in 1902 into a hotel and inside it features luxury rooms, top dining spots and a large spa.
