The annual Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards are selected by a small percentage of the global Tripadvisor community who spend their time travelling the planet looking for the best places to visit, to eat and even to sunbathe.
Dubai ousted
For the past three years, Dubai, the jewel in the crown of the United Arab Emirates was awarded the top spot in the most popular destination ranking but has now been ousted by an old ‘classic’.
London has been voted this year’s top destination by Tripadvisor.
The capital of the United Kingdom was cited for it’s ‘incredible energy’ and where ‘no two days are the same’.
The city does seem to have something for everyone irrespective of their individual tastes. London is a city rich in heritage and tradition but also caters for the culture vultures, with the metropolis full of galleries and museums.
Despite its size, the London Underground is a quick and efficient means of getting around town with the likes of Camden Town, Shoreditch, Carnaby Street, Regents Park and Covent Garden all essential stops on a visit to the capital.
