The tours will run during the estate’s Great British Autumn event and take guests through chilling tales of the stately home’s past, including the legend of the Grey Lady, Lady Louisa Carteret, who is said to haunt the corridors of the stately home.
Tickets cost £9.95 per person and can be booked as an add-on during the booking process at longleat.co.uk.
Emma Finlay from Longleat said: “Visitors will find out more about those who have made themselves known from doors which slam when no one is near, to the voice of a young girl heard as we close the house as well as random lavender aromas.
“It’s definitely a tour for all the senses.”
Built between 1567 and 1580, Longleat House is said to be home to a number of lingering spirits from its long and storied history.
Scott Ashman, head of operations at Longleat, said: “We are delighted to be bringing back Ghost Tours to Longleat House following feedback from guests.
“These tours won’t be for the faint-hearted, with plenty of scares along the way.
“Guests should keep this in mind when booking, that these are scary but entertaining tours.”
The ghost tours will run four times daily from October 25 to November 2 during the half-term break.
They are not suitable for children under 11 or those with limited mobility.
