Homeworking group Janine Loves Travel hosted more than 80 agents at its first conference since it was founded over a year ago.

The ‘JLT Jamboree’ was also attended by more than 35 suppliers, tourist boards and hoteliers at Mottram Hall in Cheshire.

The homeworking agency, part of JLT Group, launched at the end of 2023 and now has 380 home-based agents. In the last 12 months, total travel sales have topped £12 million, with March alone accounting for £1.5 million sales and January £2.5 million.

The conference included a session with founder Janine Marshall and head of business development Max Kelly to discuss the inspiration behind setting up the agency; talks by suppliers to help members better understand their products; and partner presentations by software company Top Dog and Inspire My Holiday Trade Hub.

Marshall said: “The JLT Jamboree was a day full of energy, learning, and connection. It brought together our agents, our internal team, and our suppliers for the first time in a face-to-face setting, giving everyone the chance to put faces to names and build real relationships.

“For our agents, it was a hugely valuable experience. Meeting suppliers directly is such an important part of growing their travel businesses — it helps them build relationships, deepen their product knowledge, and feel more confident when speaking to clients.

“To support this, we created fun and interactive quiz cards for agents to complete as they listened to supplier talks, helping them engage fully and take key facts away from every session. The Jamboree left everyone feeling uplifted, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead.”

Suppliers hosted activities for agents to increase their product knowledge and agents left the conference with their personalised ‘quiz books’ on suppliers to help in future holiday sales.

Agents also got the chance to win prizes donated by suppliers. They included a stay at the Steigenberger Hotel in El Gouna, donated by El Gouna Resort and awarded to quiz competition winner Lorna Day.

The day ended with an award ceremony to recognise agents and suppliers and a charity raffle.

The raffle raised £3,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness and was held in honour of agent Lucy Moore, who joined the group while undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and has gone on to become one of  JLT’s top bookers.

“What Lucy has achieved, given everything she has been through, has left all of us completely in awe. She is the true definition of courage, commitment, and determination,” added Marshall.
