An experienced traveller and YouTuber who said he has visited all 197 countries in the world has now revealed the top five worst places that he’s been to.
With over one billion views across his travel content, Drew Binsky shared his “least favourite” countries in a video which includes the wild tales of people and situations he encountered.
1. Djibouti
The East African country sits on the northeast coast of the Horn of Africa spanning 23,200 km sq. Bordered by Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and the Red Sea, the nation is strategically placed. Djibouti City, the country’s capital, is known as the Pearl of the Gulf of Tadjoura, boasting the smallest population on the continent’s mainland.
Mr Binsky explained he encountered issues with his money upon arrival at one of the airports. He also said there was not a “whole lot going on” while walking around. The YouTuber continued to share how he felt “unsafe”, despite the large military presence, also noting the high prices of produce labelling it as “obnoxiously expensive”.
2. Chad
Moving over to Central Africa, Mr Binsky reveals the chaos he encountered while in the landlocked country.
In the nine-minute video, he says how he and his friend were separated while riding a motorcycle. He then ended up in a police chase due to the vehicle being stolen and later got into a fight for taking a photograph.
Even though the creator got into multiple spots of bother while there, he said he would be open to giving Chad another chance.
3. Guinea
Mr Binsky placed another African country firmly on his list. Located on the Atlantic coast, the Republic of Guinea, has a growing population of 14 million.
Mr Binsky described his trip there as “tough” in 2019, having experienced police with riot shields storming down streets.
The YouTiber said: “We thought we were being attacked. Even shooting on my phone [I was] nervous.”
He added that besides “trying to stay safe”, there wasn’t “that much” to do there.
4. Brunei
A country tucked away in Asia has made it into Mr Binsky’s bottom five. Situated on the northern coast of the island of Borneo is Brunei, a country that he calls “unwelcoming”.
The content creator reveals how he was apparently “kicked out” of the Golden Mosque, claiming he did know why they were “so rude”.
Despite his experience, he recommended travellers to visit a beautiful National Park called Ulu Temburong.
5. Guyana
The South American country of Guyana takes fifth place as Mr Binksy says he would not recommend friends to visit.
Known to be one of the least densely populated countries on Earth, it hosts part of the Amazon rainforest and homes nine indigenous tribes.
Mr Binsky claimed he felt “very unsafe” in its capital city, Georgetown, as he was warned by his hostel owner to not go outside after 7pm.
