Travel expert and holiday bargain hunter Chelsea Dickenson has revealed how she managed to embark on an overseas trip with just one bag.
Equipped with the ‘Millennial Birkin’ – the Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag – Chelsea successfully packed all her necessities for a three-day adventure in Albania.
Dubbing it the ‘Mary Poppins’ bag, Chelsea stated that it was all she required to accommodate everything for her Albanian trip, where she aimed to enjoy a holiday for merely £100.
However, she highlighted that the “star of the show” was actually her denim jacket, ingeniously designed with two internal pockets perfectly sized for her phone, passport, and tripod.
Her packing list comprised one skirt, one vest, one nightie, two pairs of socks, and two pairs of underwear, reports the Manchester Evening News.
To ensure everything snugly fit into her Uniqlo bag, she utilised a vacuum-packed bag, which significantly reduced the volume of her clothes.
For toiletries, Chelsea brought along moisturiser, cleanser, foundation decanted into a small pot, lip and cheek tint, eyebrow gel, mascara, a comb, travel toothbrush, and toothpaste.
Chelsea shared: “The final things I had to pack were my electronics, and this was a risky strategy. But I didn’t take an adapter, I just took a fully charged power bank with a USB-C cable, and I also took a watch charger as well.”
The last item Chelsea stowed in her bag was her keys.
When the moment of truth arrived, the bag zipped up effortlessly without any issues.
In the caption, she said: “You may have spotted that I do indeed have a BACKPACK in the videos of the £100 trip… Yep, I took a backpack for my laptop and big camera since I was there to work which is why I didn’t make a video about my light packing efforts at the time, as that wasn’t the purpose of the trip.
“I just thought it would be fun to test my Uniqlo bag theory whilst I was there and I’m very happy to say – IT WAS TOTALLY POSSIBLE!”
The feat of Chelsea’s minimalistic packing left many travel enthusiasts astonished, with Feeleez saying: “I think this is a gunnies world record, I am VERY impressed lady.”
Femke chimed in, revealing: “I go 10 days with a backpack and people call me crazy. If you pack good, you don’t need much.”
Abigail replied, “No water bottle? No earphones? No kindle? No swim suit? I could never,” while another commenter humorously remarked, “As long this doesn’t start giving the airlines ideas.”
