Healdsburg is lauded as one of a dozen top U.S. destinations for tourists who are traveling by themselves.
Matador Network has named Healdsburg among its 12 best places for solo travel in the United States, the San Francisco-based digital media company recently announced.
Healdsburg was chosen in the wine lovers category for its “ vibrant wine country atmosphere, with numerous tasting rooms and farm-to-table restaurants within walking distance,” according to Matador, which focuses on travel, outdoor adventure, food, nightlife, language learning and culture.
Healdsburg also offers solo travelers opportunities to connect with others through activities that include walking tours, group bike tours and regular events in the downtown plaza, according to Matador.
Some of Matador’s other best places for solo travelers include Maui for surfing, Alaska for nature lovers; Santa Fe, New Mexico, for museums; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for book lovers; and Key West, Florida, for beach road trips. Read about more of Matador’s best places here.
