There’s ongoing problems at Manchester Piccadilly – so a heads up for any of you travelling north today. As it stands and Avanti West Coast trains will not call at Piccadilly.
There will be replacement buses between Stoke-on-Trent and that station. A post on National Rail states: “There has been some damage to the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly. This has closed some lines at this station.
“As a result of this, trains running to / from this station may be cancelled, revised or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes. Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
