Ryanair is all set to launch more flights to one of Spain’s sunniest cities as a part of its summer travel plans.
The flights which are scheduled to operate from Cardiff Airport are a part of Alicante services.
The flight services will reportedly be the popular budget airline’s largest-ever summer flight programme from Cardiff Airport, with routes up 18 per cent year-on-year, reports Sun Online.
Alicante is a vibrant coastal city located in southeastern Spain, on the Costa Blanca.
Known for its stunning beaches, rich history, and lively atmosphere, Alicante is a popular tourist destination among British tourists.
It enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers (30C) and mild winters (15C). The best time to visit is spring (April–June) or autumn (September–November) when the weather is pleasant and there are fewer crowds.
Ryanair’s routes to Alicante and Dublin are among the most popular services from the regional airport.
Flights to Alicante will be available throughout the summer, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The summer Alicante service is set to resume on March 30, with flights running until October 24.
Lee Smith, Head of Business Development at Cardiff Airport, said: “It’s fantastic to see Ryanair continuing to grow with us at the Airport.
“This summer there’ll be 32 weekly flights (16 outbound and 16 inbound). These low-cost flights are crucial for Welsh tourism and for business and leisure travellers.
“We’ve seen huge demand from our customers for more low-cost travel from their National Airport. We look forward to working with the team at Ryanair to continue growing in Wales.”
