Travel expert and bargain holiday hunter Chelsea Dickenson has shared some insights into some of the cheapest city breaks you’ll find in 2025.
Sharing research conducted by Skyscanner, Chelsea revealed the top ten European spots which should be on your radar for this year – and all the flights cost under £100.
In a recent TikTok video, Chelsea spoke about alternative destinations from the typical, popular holiday spots Brits usually flock to.
Skyscanner’s research found that a massive 84 percent of people get stuck or overwhelmed with the choice of choosing a travel destination, with the price tag being a major contributor.
To help narrow down decisions, Skyscanner’s data found the best value, alternative destinations where a return flight will cost you under £100 for this year.
When discovering the cheapest ten, Chelsea said: “So if you’re on a budget but you’re also a bit contrary, basically describing myself, then I think you’re gonna love this list.”
Topping the list with a return flight costing an average of £39 from the UK is Bremen in Germany.
Making up the top three included Poznan, Poland at £58, and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Asturias, Spain, in joint third with an average return flight price of £67.
At the other end of the list, Riga, Latvia came in tenth with a price of £91, and Milan in Italy, at £90.
Chelsea couldn’t hide her shock, saying that £90 felt “quite pricey”.
Martin Nolan, Skyscanner’s Travel Trends Expert, said: “We know January is the most popular time for Brits looking to plan their next getaway. Christmas is a distant memory, we’re back at work and school and the UK wintry weather has us pining for holidays to look forward to.
“There are great prices up for grabs in January as travel providers release their January sales and look to compete for demand.
“A combination of newly launched routes, supply and demand and the frequency of low-cost carrier flights are resulting in some attractive prices and opening up some exciting destinations for UK travellers as travel providers compete for bookings.
“Despite the current economic backdrop, UK travellers are continuing to prioritise travel and travel expenditure in 2025 and are planning to spend more on their holidays than in 2024.
“However, cost remains a key factor for travellers with the price of flights (47 per cent) and hotels (47 per cent) being the top factors determining the choice of holiday destination in 2025.”
Martin also shared a number of tips to help find the best deals on travel, including considering all options.
He said: “An ‘Everywhere’ search on Skyscanner is a great starting point for your next break away.
“Ordered by lowest to highest price from your departure airport to destinations around the globe, an ‘Everywhere’ search can inspire you to go somewhere you’ve never been before, and for a lower price than many traditional (or algorithm influenced) holiday destinations.”
