TransPennine Express has placed a Do Not Travel warning on routes between Manchester / Liverpool and Glasgow / Edinburgh.
A Do Not Travel warning is also in place between York, Newcastle and Edinburgh on Friday 24th January due to Storm Éowyn.
The operator says that any services that do run are expected to be delayed or cancelled at short notice.
Fans heading to the Manchester United v Rangers game tonight (23rd January) are advised that services to/from Scotland will be severely impacted on Friday, 24th January, so the advice is to postpone journeys until Saturday, 25th January.
“Our top priority is the safety of our customers and colleagues. We will do everything possible to keep people moving under difficult conditions, however due to the weather warnings in place for this Friday, we are having to issue advice not to travel on two of our routes.
