Eurobound has introduced a new independent tour focusing on the “White Villages” of southern Spain. Called “pueblos blancos,” the villages are known for their white-washed dwellings and architecture.

The seven-day itinerary begins with two nights in Malaga, followed by two nights in Ronda, one night in Cadiz, and a final overnight in Malaga. Travel throughout is by private car and driver, with en-route stops and all-private tours with an English-speaking guide at the villages of Mijas, Jerez de la Frontera and Arcos de la Frontera.

In Malaga, a morning tour introduces travelers to the 10th-century Malaga palace, which overlooks the city, and the Alcazaba fortress, built by the Moors in the 11th century. The afternoon is devoted to the coastal resort town of Nerja and to Frigiliana, which sits on a mountain ridge overlooking the sea. Also included is a visit to the Nerja Caves, with their Paleolithic cave paintings.

On the way to Ronda, guests stop for a guided tour of Mijas, known for its rich artisan tradition. In Ronda, an afternoon tour includes a visit to Casa Don Bosco and its gardens overlooking Ronda’s El Tajo Gorge. A full-day excursion to the villages of Sentenil de las Bodegas, Zahara de la Sierra and Grazalema highlight the stay in Ronda. Sentenil de las Bodegas is built around a canyon carved by the Guadalporcun river, with “cave houses” nestled under huge rock outcrops. Zahara de la Sierra is set in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, and houses the 13th century Nasrid Castle complex. Also located in the natural park is the village of Grazalema, with its Roman fountain and white-washed houses with flower-filled balconies.

En-route from Ronda to Cadiz, guests enjoy a guided tour of Jerez including a sherry and brandy tasting, along with a visit to Arcos de la Frontera with its stone castle walls. The itinerary concludes with a walking tour of Cadiz, the cathedral and the Tavira Tower overlooking the city, before the drive back to Malaga for a final overnight.
