All of these journeys are scenic, but Belmond’s Eastern & Oriental Express (back after a four-year hiatus) scored top for its Malaysian panoramas. And a welcome to Switzerland’s 94-year-old Glacier Express, making its debut in the awards. With an average speed of 24mph, it’s the slowest train here – in a good way.
