The 2024 Adventure Travel World Summit in Panama City (October 7-10) celebrates its 20th anniversary, gathering global adventure travel professionals for pivotal industry discussions and networking opportunities.

The countdown is on to the 2024 Adventure Travel World Summit in Panama City (October 7-10, 2024), the world’s biggest event of the year for adventure tourism professionals presented by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), and registration for the four-day event remains open for a limited time.

Every year, approximately 800 tour operators, destination representatives, adventure tourism writers, and thought leaders from across the globe gather as one like-minded community at Adventure Travel World Summit to explore travel trends, celebrate milestones, and develop new connections. This year is particularly monumental as the Adventure Travel World Summit celebrates its 20th anniversary under the leadership of Shannon Stowell and will be reflecting on the past while looking to the future by bringing together the collective experiences of every delegate to chart the next 20 years of the adventure travel industry.

The 2024 Adventure Travel World Summit in Panama City will be the first time the event will be held in Central America, though the ATTA’s work with the thriving adventure travel hub is well established, having conducted research and holding more intimate events like AdventureNEXT Latin America in Panama City as recently as 2022.

“Since 2017 ATTA has been working with partners in Panama to increase community-based travel in the country,” explains Gabi Stowell, ATTA’s Vice President, Regional Development. “Along the way, I learned so much about this amazing destination and discovered that Panama is truly a gem, filled with diverse culture and biodiversity, and endless adventure. In October, the entire ATTA community will gather for the first time in Central America, and I can’t wait for the world to see and experience all the things that made me fall in love with Panama.”

Event highlights include innovative ideas from keynote speakers, panel presentations from expert voices, a destination marketplace for buyers and suppliers, a MediaConnect Session to pitch story ideas to international writers and editors and an optional “Day of Adventure” to showcase the offerings of the region through adventurous and cultural activities. In partnership with ExpoEventos, the ATTA has collaborated with regional tourism agencies and local tour companies to craft more than  that aim to inspire adventure, educate, and build connection within the adventure tourism community.
