The travel site said: “Planning a move? Discover the top 300 places to live in 2025 with Muddy’s insider intel on the loveliest city spots, towns and villages, with the best schools, shopping and pubs near you.”
Muddy Stilettos said of Bucks: “A hop and a skip into London, yet somehow a million miles away, Buckinghamshire is famous for its stunning Chilterns landscape, chic market towns and relaxed pace of life.
“Oh, and did we mention the grammar schools?”
Read below to see what experts at the site said about each of the places that made the top 10 list.
The best places to live in Buckinghamshire
Amersham
Home of Michelin-starred eats, National Trust properties and period cottages, Amersham is an old soul with plenty of mod cons.
Beaconsfield
Within a stone’s throw of the capital, Beaconsfield may top ‘most expensive’ lists, but the period properties, nearby country walks and gastro scene make it a corker.
Bourne End
Bourne End offers the stylish riverside living and top grammar schools on tap of its glitzier neighbour Marlow – but without the price tag.
Brill
It’s in the name! This pretty village is perfect for those who crave countryside life, but don’t want to stray too far from city amenities.
Marlow
Well-heeled Marlow is a dead cert for city dwellers thanks to the super-speedy London commute, fabulous shopping and Michelin-starred foodie scene (courtesy of local boy Tom Kerridge).
Olney
With its literary history, riverside location and Georgian architecture, Olney is an underrated gem of a town hidden in the North Bucks countryside.
Speen
Tucked away in the Chilterns (but not in the HS2 zone), Speen has a welcoming community vibe and gorgeous countryside on your doorstep.
The Chalfonts
So good they named them three times, The Chalfonts are picturesque villages with fantastic connections to Amersham, Gerrards Cross and London, but with plenty of chocolate box charm of their own.
